Sadly, Miwa was diagnosed in 2002 with stomach cancer. By the time she was diagnosed the cancer had spread and could not be eliminated from her body.

This is the story of Miwa's experience, compiled from her diary entries from late 2002 and early 2003.

Miwa fought the cancer bravely and it was not until the day after the best birthday party of her lifetime did her health rapidly decline.

Miwa passed quietly in her Tallebudgera Valley home at 530pm on May 4, 2003. She was surrounded by her partner's loving family and the kindness and generosity of the many people who's lives she touched.
